GTA VI will launch in 13 languages with no microtransactions at launch
Strauss Zelnick confirms 13 launch languages at the shareholder meeting, with more possible later, and no recurrent consumer spending tied to release. GTA 5 has now passed 230 million copies sold.
GTA VI will launch on November 19 localized into 13 languages. Strauss Zelnick confirmed it at Take-Two’s annual shareholder meeting, where he also left the door open to adding more languages after launch. The official list of languages has not been published yet.
Another standout answer from the meeting: the launch will have no recurrent consumer spending associated with it. In other words, the single-player game ships without microtransactions tied to its purchase, consistent with GTA VI being presented as a single-player experience and with the current GTA Online remaining the group’s online business.
Zelnick noted that GTA V Online “continues to be a robust business” and will keep receiving support, and dropped a new figure: GTA 5 has now sold more than 230 million copies, ten million above the last known number. On marketing, he insisted GTA VI is a global event with campaigns tailored to each region and a “very significant” footprint whose details Rockstar will share.
